The Einstein Institute of Mathematics will hold a ten-day workshop for outstanding undergraduates in 2020, from Monday August 3 to Thursday August 13.
In light of the world-wide Corona crisis, the workshop is cancelled.
The goal of the workshop is to introduce outstanding talented students to advanced topics in mathematics and research level thinking. The workshop will be centered around a full course-
Numbers, Graphs and Codes, given by Alex Lubotzky
In addition, four minicourses, will be offered during the workshop about different topics:
Introduction to o-minimality, by Itay Kaplan
Knot theory, Quantum Invariants of 3-manifolds, and Infinity-Algebra structures on finite complexes, by Ruth Lawrence-Naimark
Introduction to Mathematical Elasticity, by Cy Maor
An Introduction to Euler Systems via examples, by Ari Shnidman
The courses are intensive, and reach graduate level material. They do not require specific graduate level background in mathematics, but they do require mathematical sophistication, and problem solving skills.
The workshop will take place at the
Einstein Institute of Mathematics , the
Hebrew University of Jerusalem , Jerusalem, Israel.
Participants are expected to arrive on Sunday, August 2nd, and
the workshop will end on Thursday, August 13th.
